Kendall A. Sykes
Kendall’s practice focuses on family law including divorce and child custody, post-decree modifications of custody, visitation and child support, complex multi-jurisdictional custody issues, the Indian Child Welfare Act, and adoption. Kendall enjoys representing clients or working with outside counsel on all aspects of civil and criminal appellate advocacy – legal research, brief writing and oral argument. Ms. Sykes’ background is in family law, appellate advocacy, and criminal defense matters. Kendall previously consulted as a member of the legal team for the adoptive parents in the “Save Baby Veronica” case, involving the Indian Child Welfare Act, in the successful appeal to the United States Supreme Court. More recently, Ms. Sykes served as legal counsel for the adoptive parents in the “Bring Sonya Home” case out of Tennessee for which she appeared with her clients on the nationally televised program, “The View.” Kendall volunteers her time with Legal Aid Services and within her community. Ms. Sykes is a 2007 graduate of the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Association.
